One View for Protecting Maritime Infrastructure

Inside Rheinmetall Battlesuite, Eyeson's software-defined video infrastructure brings feeds from unmanned surface, aerial and underwater systems into shared Virtual Situation Rooms. At REPMUS26, it's tested in real maritime conditions.

The Challenge

From Seabed to Surface: Why Port Security Depends on Networked Unmanned Systems

Ports, energy hubs and coastal waters are critical infrastructure. Protecting them takes persistent awareness above and below the waterline. Unmanned systems can provide that awareness, but only when they work together. At REPMUS26, Rheinmetall shows that mission success depends on how well platforms are networked, not only on how well each one performs.

All sensor data flows into one multidimensional operational picture. This provides early situational awareness and enables graded, precise courses of action. The 2026 focus is on unmanned underwater sensors from several industry partners. The goal is for operators to control multiple systems of different types and makers through one common user interface.

Each system sees one piece. The drone sees the boat from above, the uncrewed boat sees it at the surface, and the underwater drone and seabed sensor watch the cable below. Eyeson puts all of these views into one view.

Eyeson in the Loop

Real-Time Video Infrastructure for the Mobile Operations Centre

A common operational picture needs a common visual picture. Eyeson's Virtual Situation Rooms (VSRs) run inside the TACTICAL CORE and are part of the Battlesuite setup at REPMUS26. Every camera and sonar feed from the drones, boats and underwater vehicles lands in one view. AI models can be connected if needed, e.g. to highlight the feeds that matter.

Operators in the container, naval C2 and partner units all work from that same stream. The room is also easy to share: bring in another unit, a partner nation or an expert on shore, and they see the same live picture straight away, with access under your control.
