Intellectual property matters… also for eyeson! Therefore, we applied for a patent in the United States last February. One year later we can finally hold it in our own hands. Our Single Stream Technology (SST) is therefore now patented in Austria 🇦🇹 and in the United States 🇺🇸 .
Andreas Kroepfl, Michael Wolfgang, Peter Mayer, and Florian Limberger started this company in 2010. 3 years later, the SST was patented in Austria. 5 years after we have received the Austrian patent, it was the perfect time to apply for a patent in the United States. Since February 2019, we are able to hold the patent in the US as well.
Since the video communication market is quite intense and competitive, protecting 🔐 our unique superior technology was very important to us and one of our top priorities on our agenda. After one year of processing, the goal is reached and we are very happy about it. With a patent, we appear much stronger in the US market and can establish ourself as a pre-eminent player.
So what’s the patent about
We hold the patent on our Single Stream Technology (SST). Our technology upgrades the even sophisticated MCU (Multipoint Control Unit) technology. But how does it work? Well, when it comes to video communication it is all about scalability. Scalability is responsible for keeping superior video and audio quality during the whole meeting, while the number of meeting participants rises.
The only technology which is capable of guaranteeing excellent scalability is the MCU topology. Due to its complexity, needed expertise and server capacity it is the least used technology among the video communication provider. eyeson even upgraded this technology with its SST 🔝 .
Single Stream Technology is the ultimate technology which can be used for video communication.
